From My Breasts to Yours | Halifax, NS, Breast Cancer Survivor

This one's all about YOU and your boobies.  That's right, we've talked about mine enough, let's talk about yours.

For those of you of a certain age *cough forty* you really need to take care of your girls.  Self exams, annual exams by your family physician, mammograms - yes, please!  You know deep down that it's time, I know you do.

You know your own breasts, your doctor probably does annual checkups on them (right?!), but maybe you're afraid of the mammogram.  I know, you've heard the horror squishy stories.  Does it hurt?  Yes, it does... for about ten seconds.  It is a pain you will forget about as soon as it's done.  Trust me.

I have a friend who was a mammogram virgin until she was 56, but has followed my journey and decided it was time to get 'er done.  I want to know there are more of you mammogram virgins out there who love your breasts enough to squish the hell out of them.  More importantly, do it for the rest of us, your friends and family who get to be sure to keep you around for a long long time.

And if you're still afraid, grab a girlfriend and go together.  And then celebrate with dinner afterwards.  That's how it's done.

xoxo

  1. Kare - You go girl. Tell all those girls to get their boobies to the squish machine and then out to dinner afterward. It could be the best $$ you've ever spent. Love, Mom

  4. Hi Kare..This year was my first mammogram. I heard the horror stories and was a little nervous. I went in only to find out that it was uncomfortable for about 10 seconds. Hurt? Not in the least..Will not mind to go again next year. You rock girlfriend.
